Abstract
As time progressed, various innovations emerged, including electric cigarettes. This type of cigarette relies on electrical power from a battery and uses liquid as a substance to produce vapor. Basically, electric cigarettes are designed as an alternative to reduce consumption of conventional cigarettes which are high in nicotine content. However, many e-cigarette liquids entering Indonesia do not follow appropriate procedures, and if consumed, can be more dangerous than conventional cigarettes. This research uses a normative juridical philosophy approach, which concludes that legal protection for consumers related to e-cigarettes can be evaluated by referring to Law Number 8 of 1999 concerning Customer Protection and Law Number 36 of 2009 concerning Health. There is also a responsibility towards consumers who experience losses due to consumption of Liquid Vape. The distributor or producing industry may be subject to legal sanctions in the form of administrative penalties. This type of reward may involve a verbal warning, written warning, removal of the product from distribution, advice to stop production, or advice to raise safety standards in accordance with the provisions of the Laws and Regulations.
