Abstract

Sugar production is decreasing and sugar consumption is increasing because sugar cane plants are sensitive to several biotic and abiotic factors, including fire sore disease, smut and striped mosaic which can cause a decrease in sugar cane yield and sugar content. This research aims to determine the resistance of sugar cane plant clones to attack. fire wound, blendok and striped mosaic to increase the potential yield of sugar cane. The research was carried out in the experimental garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Muhammadiyah University of Gresik in Klangonan Village, Kebomas District, Gresik Regency which was carried out from June to July 2024. The research used a Randomized Block Design (RAK) with 2 factors studied. The first factor, namely the type of clone SB01, SB03, SB04, SB11, SB12, SB19, SB20, SB27, SB28, SB30, SB31, SB32, SB33, SB34, SB GREEN 1, SB, GREEN 2, SB 200, SBX, BL, PS862, as well as the second factor, namely type of disease N1: Fire Wound Disease, N2: Blendok Disease, N3: Striped Mosaic Disease. The observation variables include growth variables (plant height, number of leaves, and disease resistance). Data analysis uses 5% analysis of variance, if there are significant differences, continue with the 5% BNT test and correlation test. The results of the interaction treatment research showed that all observation variables were significantly different. The results showed that SB 32 and the comparison PS862 had the highest growth in plant height and number of leaves. The clonal resistance test showed that the 20 clones of sugarcane plants studied were resistant to attacks by smut, blendok and mosaic. However, the SB 27 clone has a light fire damage of 3.3%.
