Abstract
Writing is an activity of putting ideas into visual form, expressing language in the form of picture symbols, a complex activity that includes hand-arm movements, fingers and eyes in an integrated manner and also one component of a communication system that describes thoughts, feelings and ideas into the form of graphic language symbols. This study aims to improve the ability to write the beginning of letters in low vision children at SLB Kemala Bhayangkari 2 Gresik. This type of research is experimental research with a single subject (single subject research) who experiences low vision in class 1 SLB Kemala Bhayangkari 2 Gresik. The method used in this study is the drill method. This research design used the A1-B-A2 design pattern. Pretest (A1) was conducted in 4 sessions. Furthermore, the use of intervention (B) is given to the subject in the form of using the drill method in carrying out learning to write the beginning of letters, the intervention was conducted in 8 sessions. The last posttest (A2) was conducted in 4 sessions. The results of this study show that giving positive reinforcement with the drill method was able to make the subject experience an improvement in the ability to write beginning letters.
