Abstract

This article discusses how Islamic religious education teachers can cultivate he character of social awareness in class X students at SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Gresik. The research method used is a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through observation, interviewes, anda documentation. Challenges faced include a lack of time un the curriculum to explore social care topics and diverse student backgrounds that influence their understanding of the material. Teachers in he school environment are rolemodels for students, as well as playing an important role in fostering a sense of social awareness for students. The aims of this research are: To describe the role of teachers in cultivating the social caring character of students, and To describe the forms of social care carried out by students.
