Abstract

Quality control plays an important role in ensuring products meet set standards and minimize defects. The Seven Tools method and Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) are effective approaches to improving quality in the production process. Seven Tools consists of statistical tools such as check sheets, Pareto diagrams, cause and effect diagrams, histograms, scatter diagrams, control charts, and stratification which are used to identify and monitor the causes of quality problems. Meanwhile, FMEA is a systematic method that focuses on identifying potential failures, analyzing impacts, and implementing mitigation measures. This research aims to apply a combination of these two methods to the production process to identify the main causes of defects and design improvement solutions. Results show that Seven Tools helps in data visualization and early problem detection, while FMEA strengthens risk analysis and improvement prioritization. Implementation of this method simultaneously succeeded in reducing the level of product defects and increasing process efficiency. Thus, the combination of Seven Tools and FMEA is recommended to support sustainable quality control, thereby increasing the company's competitiveness through high quality products.
