Abstract

MTs Negeri Gresik is one of the only public Madrasah Tsanawiyah schools in Gresik Regency. This school has many students, therefore a space system is formed which consists of superior room 1 namely U space and the rest is medium class where there are classes A, B, C, D, E, F, G, and H. When increasing classes from class VII to class VIII will move classrooms based on academic achievement. This is so that the creation of a balanced class of students academic achievement is good, moderate and lacking. Completion of problems in the formation of a balanced class can be done by developing a more effective system in grouping student academic achievement, one way to classify effective data is to use data mining clustering techniques, so that it can facilitate work for Waka. Curriculum in knowing students who have good, moderate and lack of academic achievement, which can be used as a reference in forming balanced classroom conditions. This student grouping system uses the K-Means method. Grouping is done using values from all subjects taught for one semester as attributes. Based on the results of the system test by evaluating the internal cluster Davies-Bouldin Index (DBI) in the global cluster, 5 times and 10 trials were conducted. In the experiment 5 best groupings occurred in the fifth experiment with DBI = 8.33, obtained by students with high academic achievement as many as 65 students, moderate academic achievement as many as 116 students, and less academic achievement as many as 133 students. In the experiment 10 best groupings occurred in the second experiment with DBI = 8.33, obtained by students with high academic achievement as many as 65 students, moderate academic achievement as many as 116 students, and academic achievement as many as 133 students.
