Abstract
writing skills are an activity for one to use to express an opinion, ideas, thoughts, or ideas through written media to be read by others, to train student writing skills can be done by practicing fairy tales. The difficulty students experience in rewriting a fairy tale in their own language is difficult in finding synonyms. Another factor that class 2 students experience is lack of technical mastery, as students do not notice the spelling of the punctuation. The purpose of this study is to describe the skill of rewriting fables using storybook media and to know and describe the challenges that penmanship faces when using fairy tale media. The type of research used is qualitative descriptive research. The result of research already done is the average value of the students' overall test results is 67.3 that fit the good assessment criteria and aspects that include spelling and punctuation, the drafting of passages and handwriting neatness into the student's problem of rewriting fairy stories. An average score obtained from a total test result could be that as many as 4 students earned "very good" criteria, as many as 8 students obtained "good" reviews, as many as 6 students earned "sufficient" criteria, 1 student earned "less" criteria and 1 student earned "badly less" criteria.
