Abstract

This research aims to describe the profile of critical thinking in the Social Science learning on social problem thopic in 5th grade at state elementary school. Based on preliminary observations and interviews, it shows that students' critical thinking skills are still lacking in understanding a social problem and determining the truth of a problem.The research method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method. The subjects were the fifth grade students of MI Irsyadul Athfal Benjeng Gresik, which consisted of 6 students. Data collection techniques used were tests and interviews. Based on the results of this research, the profile of critical thinking of Social Sciences on Social Problem thopic in class V reached “very high” category with an average of 81.67% which is between 81.25 < X ≤ 100.
