Abstract

Adolescence is a crucial phase in the formation of healthy lifestyle habits, including food choices. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of a “Nutrition Counseling” role-playing fragment as an educational medium in improving knowledge and behavior related to healthy food choices among female adolescents at MTs Pondok Pesantren Al-Karimi 1 Gresik. The method used is quasi-experimental with a one-group pretest-posttest design. A total of 30 respondents were selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected through questionnaires on knowledge, attitudes, and behavior, and analyzed using normality Shapiro-Wilk and Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test. The results showed a significant increase in knowledge and behavior regarding healthy food choices after the role-playing intervention (p < 0.05), while attitudes did not show a significant change, as the majority of respondents already had a positive attitude from the beginning. In conclusion, the role-playing-based nutrition counseling fragment was effective in improving knowledge and behavior, but had little impact on pre-existing attitudes.
