Abstract
In achieving the goal of improving discipline, this can be done by providing positive reinforcement to students, because positive reinforcement can make students feel appreciated for their attitudes, achievements and efforts. Positive reinforcement is the establishment of a pattern of action by providing rewards or reinforcement immediately after the expected action occurs. This research aims to see the effectiveness of positive reinforcement in improving student discipline. The method used in this research is a qualitative method with data collection techniques in the form of observations and interviews in providing intervention techniques in the form of positive reinforcement to junior high school (SMP/MTs) students. A total of 3 students were less able to form disciplinary behavior based on all aspects of discipline. The research results showed that of the three subjects, two of them still did not fulfill one aspect of discipline, namely the aspect of students' orderly attitudes in the classroom. Meanwhile, the other subject can fulfill all disciplinary aspects.
