Abstract
The ineffective warehouse layout at PT XYZ causes a long retrieval process and operational inefficiencies. This research focuses on redesigning the spare parts warehouse layout using the Class-Based Storage (CBS) method to improve accessibility and minimize picking time. CBS categorizes items based on frequency of movement, ensuring frequently accessed items are within easy reach. By analyzing the existing challenges, including unorganized storage and unsystematic placement of items, the study came up with a new layout design. The results showed a reduction in total picking distance as well as improved efficiency in item storage and identification, supporting a smoother operational workflow and better resource management.
