Abstract

As a manufacturing company, PT Etex Building Performance Indonesia recognises the importance of improving constraints that disrupt production flow and reduce overall productivity levels. One of the obstacles that are often encountered is downtime caused by machine damage and also production quality problems where there are many rejects during the production process. This study aims to analyse an effectiveness problem that occurs on production machines at PT Etex Building Performance Indonesia by using the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) method as a determinant of the level of effectiveness of the production flow on the machine and also by using the Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) method to identify problems in the production process flow that can cause production failure. From the research carried out, it was found that the calculation of the OEE value did not meet the world class standard, namely on the SM3 production machine with a value of 83.91% with its Six Big Losses analysis, namely due to equipment failure losses with the highest value of 24%. The fishbone analysis states that there are 6 factors affecting Equipment Failure Losses with 10 causes and obtained the Machine Factor with an RPN of 432 with the cause being the age and quality of the machine affecting the occurrence of Equipment Failure Losses on the SM3 production machine.
