Abstract
Social environment have a role in shaping someone’s behaviour, especially during their adolescence stage. This has even more effects in the case of alcohol consumption pattern. This study aims to find the correlation between social impact and teenage behavioural pattern in drinking alcohol at Dusun Tanjung Sari, Sidoarjo. This study use analytical approach with cross sectional method. The population is 109 teenagers with sample of 86 teenagers, who consume alcohol. The sample is taken using simple random technique with questionnaire as the instrument. The data is analysed using chi square test. The results show that out of total 86 teenagers, 59 teenagers (69%) drinks alcohol and have social group that support that behaviour; only 6% of the total sample that does not drink alcohol, even though the social group support the consumption. This pattern also happens among teenagers with social group that does not support alcohol consumption. Only 16 teenagers (19%), who donot drink alcohol, while the rest is drinking. This support chi square test result where ρ value 0,000 < 0,05. That means H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted.
