Abstract

Good quality electrical energy in the industry will produce maximum products, while also making existing equipment in the industry more durable and stable. This research was conducted to improve the quality performance of the electric power system at PT Dayasa Aria Prima. After seeing the network performance at PT Dayasa Aria Prima, further improvements were made to maximize network performance. Based on the results of the analysis shows that there is a bad power factor from PLN of 79.8%. In Area TX- 01C , it has a power factor of 74% in measurement and 71% in simulation. In 15 days, by installing 3 MVAR the bank has been able to improve the overall PF system with some conditions still below 85%. Meanwhile, with 4 MVAR almost every time it can be above 85%. From the results of harmonic measurements at PT. Dayasa Aria Prima, the system is in the safe category because the harmonic value represented by the THDv value is still below the standard. Due to the lack of data regarding the specifications and completeness of the motor at PT. Dayasa Aria Prima, then the motor starting simulation is carried out with the worst conditions when starting. There are some cables that are loaded more than 50% which means it is not safe and must be replaced with a larger one.
