Abstract

Melon crop cultivation technology is currently very intense, especially in the need for chemical fertilizers. This study aims to reduce the use of chemical fertilizers in the cultivation of melons using cow manure. The study was conducted in the village of Gampangsejati, district. Laren, Kab. Lamongan. The research method using a factorial randomized block design with two factors; First, the dose factor Cow Manure consists of (1) 22 t / ha, (2) 44 t / ha and (3) 66 t / ha; and secondly, factors Dosage Recommendations Farmers (DRF) consists of (1) 100% DRF and (2) 50% DRF. Based on the results of this study concluded that the average plant height, leaf number, leaf area, fruit diameter, weight and sugar content of fruit make no significant difference in all treatment combinations. So the combination treatment DRF 50% and 22 t / ha cow manure could be an alternative dose of fertilizer in the cultivation of melons.
