Abstract
Abstract Increased demand for food, especially rice, along with the increase of population in Indonesia. However, the carrying capacity of land for rice production is declining. Each land has different carrying capacity and characterization in optimizing rice production. Land carrying capacity in the form of natural resources (land, water, crops, and pest) as the main capital to manage the land in an integrated and efficient input. To optimize the carrying capacity of the land for increased production, each land has its own characterization or is called site-specific.The purpose of this research is to analyze the location of paddy cultivation system in a rainfed area with some growing system. The research was conducted in Wajik Village, Klitih Sub-Village, Lamongan Sub-district, Lamongan Regency, Indonesia, from February to June 2017 at Planting Season (PS II). This study used Randomized Block Design (RAK) with four treatments repeated three times. As the treatment is planting system by farmers, namely: System of rice of intensification (SRI) (t1); Jajar Legowo (t2); Hazton (t3); and Conventional (Control) (t4). The data obtained were analyzed using 5% significance level analysis. If there is a significant difference, follow-up test using Duncan's Multiple Range Test (DMRT) with 5% significance level. The results showed that there were significant differences in plant growth variables and number of seedlings at the beginning of the growth that was the highest significant difference in the hazton system, while at the end of the growth did not show any real difference. The yield variables showed significant differences in a number of productive tillers, panicle length, number of grains per panicle, number of seeds, the weight of dry grain harvest (t / ha), a weight of dried grain (t / ha), weight of 1000 grain seeds, and weight fresh stover. The Jajar legowo planting system shows an effective cropping system used in rain-fed fields during the second season (February to mei) compared to conventional systems and hazton systems. This is shown from the productivity of rice can reach 4.75 t / ha is significantly different from the conventional system and hazton system. While the SRI system can be an option because the productivity is not significantly different from the jajar legowo system Key words : rice cropping system, rainfed land, system rice of intensification, jajar legowo, hazton
