Abstract

This study, entitled "Improving Student’s Reading Comprehension by Using Question Answer Relationship Strategy at VIII-A grade of SMP Islamic Qon GKB Manyar Gresik". The purpose of this research is to improve students' Reading comprehension by using Question Answer Relationship Strategy. The research design of this study is classroom action research, including: planning, action, observation and reflection. The implementation of Question Answer Relationship Strategy in actions performed has been done in one cycle with three meetings, the material is about recount text. The researcher using observation checklistwho’s by teacher partner and conducting pretest and posttest to get the data. The results obtained from this study are the increase of student’s reading comprehension, it can be seen from the comparison of the results of the evaluation that is pre-test and post test. For pre teststudents average is 66, its means that the students score still low. The evaluation of post test increased that is student’s averageis 79. From the explanation can be concluded that by usingQuestion Answer Relationship Strategy could improve students Reading Comprehension at VIII A grade of SMP Islamic Qon GKB Manyar Gresik. By used Question Answer Relationship Strategy students could what are the information’s of the text after they has been read and it make students enjoy in learning in the class.
