Abstract
In this study, the researcher dealt with the using of macromedia dreamweaver 8 to develop grammar test to improve students’ grammar. The subjects in this study were ninth grade students with the total number of twenty five students. The students are low in grammar. They often get bad scores in grammar and made some mistakes in grammar when they do English lesson test. This study was to develop grammar test trough macromedia dreamweaver 8 to increase students’ motivation during the test. The researcher took 9A class in SMP Muhammadiyah 4 Giri to try out the test. The design of the study was Research and Development (R&D) study. The development used in this research was the ADDIE model which has the procedures; a) assessment, b) Writing Draft, c) Development of test, d) Expert validation, e) Try out, f) Revision of Media g) Final product. The researcher product was in the form of html in CD-Rom. Based on the syllabus and curriculum in second semester the material included two topics, they were narrative text and report text. There are 40 questions in this program. The questions are multiple choices and there are some explanations for each answer. The students did the test and they can read the explanations. In the end of the test, there were the scores and high scores. The researcher concludes that Using Macromedia Dreamweaver 8 for developing grammar test is attractive for the students of SMP Muhammadiyah 4 Giri. There are 40 questions in this product. Students clicked one of the answers and it showed the explanation whether those answer correct or in correct. In the end of the test there were the scores and high scores. Based on the research findings, four suggestions are provided. First, for the teacher, this product could help to provide better technique and new media for teaching and giving grammar test. Second, for students, it could be fun media whereas hopefully they would not be bored and improve their motivation in learning English. Third For the school is recommended to use for extracurricular activity. The fourth, for the next researchers, it could motivate them to develop test into another media.
