Abstract

In learning, there are many methods, strategy or activities that can be used. One of those is outdoor teaching and learning. It becomes way to deliver material from teacher to learners. Some studies reported that it has many benefits for the implementer and others who involve in it. Although there are many advantages which can be gotten by implementer, there are many schools which never implement it. Based on those statement, researcher is challanged to analyze the teacher perceptions toward outdoor teaching and learning especially for Elementary school teachers. In analyzing teacher’s perception, quantitative design by using descriptive survey was used by researcher. First step is collecting data in which the researcher make questionnaire and give it to teacher. In the questionnaire there are many questions that must be answered by correspondent. After collecting data, researcher tries to analyze data by using formula and scale to make her easier in analyzing the result of questionnaire. The result is the teacher perceptions of outdoor teaching and learning such as 13 teachers(30,9%) are strongly agree. It means that teachers need to implement outdoor teaching and learning activity in English lesson. Besides, there are 28 teachers (66,6%) had agree, and 1 teacher (2,3%) had average. In conclusion, outdoor teaching and learning activity is important to be implemented for English lesson. The researcher hopes that the result of this study can be useful for the school who wants or already implement outdoor teaching and learning. It also will give contribution for teachers as a study or reference for teaching students. For the next researchers, she wants the further researcher will develop better study of outdoor teaching and learning.
