E- portfolio which implemented by the teacher in the classroom were video and audio recording. While, in class portfolio the researcher collect the students score from every task that given by teacher. Besides that, the students’ responses toward the use of portfolio for assessment in speaking were positive and so-so. It was based on the record of observation and their statement in depth interview that most of them were enjoy, enthusiast and interest in learning speaking. Based on the findings, it is suggested that the english teacher should give another kind of task to the students such as role play, retell, and description because it will make the students more interested in learning speaking. For the next researcher, the researcher expected to do further research about portfolio for assessment. The next researcher can use portfolio for assessment in same field or study with different subject or other kinds of skill.
